This project reflects a low point in my life. To give some context, I was no longer living in L.A. I was burned out, and gave up pursuing music as a profession. I was single, sold all of my equipment, had moved into my sisters apartment to live on the couch.
I had also discovered that two close friends had lost their lives which seems unfathomable to someone who was barely 30. All of these beats were made in Garageband with no equipment other than samples, basic synth plugins and my trusty, dusty vinyl drum collection which was digitized and portable. I didn't even have a midi keyboard so arranging was very challenging as well as drum chops.
I wanted to show that even in the worst of times good art could be made. Lastly, this EP also represented my acceptance of making music for the sake of music and not with the intent of sales and public recognition.
