For me personally this incomplete project was the pinnacle of my musical accomplishments while living in L.A. During this time I was dating a woman who introduced me to a quiet dude named Charlie Capen. We hit off and soon discovered that he was a musician. Not only that but he had been an assistant to Beck, which is one of my all time favorite artists.
When Charlie and I began to record, he explained to me that his wife was pregnant with their first child and so I felt like he used our time in my studio to release a lot of creativity. Over the course of several months we laid the foundation for an entire album. Unfortunately also during this time I ended my relationship with the woman who introduced us and Charlie became a father.
The music featured on this EP are the closest I have to 'finished' songs. A lot of it is single verses and choruses. However, I have been sitting on these recordings since 2009 and felt obligated to put it out. There was a ton of great art, passion and time spent on even the unfinished tunes.
It will always hold a special place in my heart.
